Mirror's Edge Catalyst is not only the next entry in a beloved franchise – it's a new beginning, too. Due out from 23rd February on the PlayStation 4, the sequel will ditch the linear structure of its predecessor, giving you a full sandbox to play with. The title – developed by the ever-busy DICE – will once again see you assume the role of Faith, but this time you'll witness her growth from a young and carefree woman into the experienced runner from the original game.
Playing through the story will guide you to new areas of the City of Glass, and you'll uncover time trials and different challenges along the way. As you hone your abilities, you'll be able to explore new areas – accessing more of the world and new secrets along the way. The best part, though? There are no guns – Faith's body is her only projectile, and you'll be using her athleticism and the environment to off enemies at high speed.

Mirror's Edge 2. The Last Guardian. Final Fantasy VII. Shenmue III. Fallout 4. DOOM. Surely this is the best E3 ever?
@get2sammyb I 100% agree with this statement. I was thinking about it earlier today, and how a lot of people complain about the state of the industry these days, but to be honest I think that with all the mindboggling tech now available to creators, we are probably on the cusp of a real "golden age" of gaming. With all those big names on the horizon it certainly feels like it anyway! Either way I'm satisfied and can't wait to see what else gets shown!!
@get2sammyb massive E3 for games in general. Its a good time to be a gamer no matter what platform you prefer.
I couldn't get into Mirrors edge though, something didnt click with me and I dont know why
@get2sammyb At least best E3 that I watched. since 2011.
This looks exactly the same as the first game and that's why I'm excited.
So no trophy for beating the game on hard without firing a weapon this time around. Oh well ill finally be able to play ME for more than 6 hours without having to result to time trials or speed runs. I'm kind of worried at this point though. I already don't have enough time to play games and with the massive amount being released at the end of 2015 and beginning of 16 I will officially be absent from the world.
@get2sammyb Overall I think it could be the best E3 though maybe Nintendo need a show as strong as MS and Sony for that to happen?
If not then, it must at least be one of the best...?
@get2sammyb Indeed. I'll fully admit that I was writing those titles off as pipe dreams and fanboy wishes. I'm happy I was proven wrong.
Mirror's Edge is probably what I'm looking forward to the most out of all those, just because I love the way it looks and how I've always wanted to try the first game.
