The inconsistency between digital Trophies goes on, as it's been confirmed that Grim Fandango Remastered will come with a Platinum gong. It looks like the majority of the trinkets will pertain to the plot and specific actions, but there is a nightmarish addition: "Play the whole game with tank controls." The game has, of course, been overhauled to include more modern control schemes as well.
As a complete title – albeit one from the late 90s – it makes sense for this remastered package to pack one of Sony's premium prizes, but we're getting a little frustrated at the discrepancies between releases. Why doesn't Jet Set Radio have a Platinum, for example, when this does? There's just no rhyme or reason between titles, and we reckon that it's time that the Japanese giant reconsidered its stance.

I've never yet gained a platinum trophy....just way too casual a gamer to ever do it. Saints Row the Third is the closest I've ever come to it. It is bizarre that some game have them platinums and some don't.
Well, should be an easy one. Easiest Platinum I think I ever got was for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. It just came naturally through playing the game and a couple of hours of online play. I seem to remember the Platinum for Virtues Last Reward being impossible to not get so long as you completed the non-compulsory puzzles.
On the other side of he coin, the platinum for MotorStorm: RC damn near had me throwing my brand new Vita at the wall in frustration.

@AhabSpampurse lol...it is what it is. Platinums usually require some element of multiplayer or performing actions that exist just to get that trophy....I hate MP and once the narrative element of a game is done I rarely continue playing enough to find every one of 100 coins/papers/gems/feathers/whatever. i was close to platinum in Saints Row 3 but I got bored of trying to find all the shortcuts.
There should be platinum trophies for all of the games you download...could make it more fun, but for some of the games that are full length, you could make it more of a challenge to get that platinum, and maybe get a special reward through the network store for your achievement!!!
These all sound like the 'you'll get these in one playthrough because it's an adventure game' trophies you see in TWD and The Wolf Among Us.
To be honest - I never bother with trophies. Guess I'm pretty 'old-school'. There are times where I'll try get platinum trophies on the games I enjoy - sly racoon and jak and daxter, things like final fantasy xiii will too long to derive any enjoyment from (as much as I love that game - yeah I said it).
the problem is that Sony clearly favours downloadabe titles where it itself is involved. If a downloadable title is being published by Sony, is part of ps + deal, is a timed exclusive Sony is promoting, or something like that, then it will certainly get a platinum.... if its just a third party title Sony has nothing to do with, it may or may not get a platinum
@RawShark Oh god! You reminded me that MotorStorm RC was a real thing! Frustrating does not begin to describe some of the trophies in that game
Yeah I've only ever managed the second son plat, I may try and pick up the dragon age inquisition plat but its still full of glitches I believe.
