Having only just covered Dust: An Elysian Tail, here we have a game from another prominent Xbox 360 developer coming to the PlayStation 4 – and the PlayStation Vita, too. Even more excitingly, this is a completely new and original game, rather than a port.
Salt and Sanctuary comes from Ska Studios – a team best known for Charlie Murder and The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile – and manages to hold down the same dull, oppressively grimy aesthetic for which it's become known, shrouding its world in darkness and mist. It's as stylish as you'd expect from such a strong studio.
But this is more than just a pretty face. With a far more considered approach to combat than previous titles, taking cues from the RPG genre, it looks set to be the deepest Ska Studios title to date. You can set up your own loadout, mixing weapons and gear to find a combination which suits your play style. And, as you can see in the trailer, evading enemy attacks by rolling seems to be a very crucial manoeuvre indeed.
Due for release in 2015, we think that Salt and Sanctuary is worth keeping an eye on. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, though.

Looks promising for the Vita. Need more stuff like this!
Very very good, cross between rogue legacy and dark souls, I can see this selling big on Vita, here's hoping for a physical release.
