Samurai Warriors 4 on PS4 Looks Like It'll Take the Crown For Best Looking Warriors Game Yet

Posted by Robert Ramsey

Flash, bang, whallop

Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition on PlayStation 4 may have set the bar for how good a Warriors game can look, but we reckon it won't be able to hold on to that title when October rolls around.

Samurai Warriors 4 has been given a Japanese trailer that showcases what the slash-'em-up can do on Sony's newest system, and we have to say that it all looks rather crisp. Character models are decidedly smooth and shiny, while special attacks look pretty darn, er, special. Do you agree with our judgement, or do you think that developer Omega Force could do better? I've actually never played a warriors game. Heard a lot of people say they are repetitive but that's kinda what a hack n slash is supposed to be. Might try this one out. Is there a storyline from the first 3 games that I will be missing out on or do they stand on their own like Killzone SF and Infamous SS (same world different story thing)?

@T7L3R Nah, you won't be missing anything. Like Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors basically retells the same story as the previous games. It's mostly just how it's told and which characters it focuses on that change.

@ShogunRok awesome! This game has definitely made it onto my wish list then! I may pick up Dynasty Warriors 8 first though to make sure I like this type of game.

Personally, Hyrule Warriors looks much better in a lot of ways. This still looks like a good entry though, will probably pick it up eventually.

Already preordered along with Warriors Orochi 3 ultimate on PS4.
Can't wait to see what the first non-crossgen PS4 musou game look like as these PS3/PS4 versions are bonding things back quite a bit.
