Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

Add upcoming PlayStation 4 sequel Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End to the list of likely GamesCom 2014 attendees, as creative director Neil Druckmann has hinted that the release will be shown again soon. The title last appeared at E3 2014 a couple of months ago, but only received a short cinematic trailer. Now, speaking as part of a San Diego Comic-Con panel about The Last of Us Movie, the award-winning developer stressed that more information on the next-gen game is imminent. With the platform holder’s press conference in Cologne planned for 12th August, we’re counting on some kind of extended trailer to put in an appearance.

“[The game’s] going to be really awesome, and you’re going to see something... I don’t know if I can say this. You’ll see something soon, [but] yeah, I can’t say anything about it – you put me on the spot,” the luminary explained when asked about Nathan Drake’s next big adventure. “We’re trying to do something pretty different with the story, but it’s still going to be charming and you’re still going to get set-pieces. In bringing them to the PS4, we’re trying to marry those moments more with the characters in the story, and it really does feel like we have something special that’ll evolve the series.”

There’s still no hard date attached to the next-gen escapade, but all signs point to Christmas 2015 right now. Despite the departures of key personnel, the project appears to be very much on track, and with The Last of Us Remastered now out of the way, expect the outfit to be turning its attention to this full-time over the coming year or so.
