Aside from Bit.Trip Presents: Runner 2 – Future Legend of Rhythm Alien, ridiculously long game names have fallen out of fashion a little. Still, indie developer Drinkbox Studios’ Mexican-themed Metroidvania was absolutely stuffed full of retro references, so it’s not especially surprising that the Canadian company’s opted to dub its PlayStation 4 re-release Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championship Edition.

Due out “soon” on Sony’s next-gen format, the ex-PlayStation 3 and Vita exclusive will be augmented with all of its previous expansion packs, as well as a couple of additional levels and boss battles. Furthermore, the title’s various playable characters will also receive a few new abilities, which can be glimpsed in the teaser trailer below.
