More people stream Netflix to their televisions with the PlayStation 3 than any other device in the world, platform holder Sony has announced. Considering the sheer number of compatible gadgets and set-top boxes available, it's easy to understand why the company is shouting about the statistic.
"PlayStation 3 is our largest TV-connected platform in terms of Netflix viewing, and this year, at times, even surpassed the PC in hours of Netflix enjoyment to become our No. 1 platform overall," CEO Reed Hastings revealed. "PS3 is a natural fit for Netflix in terms of developing and first deploying our most advanced features. We can transparently update our application with new features on a daily basis, and through the free PlayStation Network, people around the world can sign up for Netflix directly from their PS3."
Sony Computer Entertainment America’s Jack Tretton added: "The PlayStation and Netflix communities both share a strong passion for high quality entertainment. Netflix provides a fantastic experience for watching TV shows and movies on PS3, and our joint development will continue to produce innovations for our customers that further demonstrate PS3 as the true home for entertainment in the living room."
Netflix recently expanded to the PlayStation Vita in North America, strengthening the service’s association with Sony’s premium gaming brand.

thats great news..
Makes it even easier for them since PS3 is the only device that Netflix allows 1080p streaming to >.>
Nice! I can certainly say that in my household, the PS3 does a good bit of Netflix streaming.
I bet my PS3 has spent more hours streaming Netflix then playing games.
I'm somewhat surprised by this. I thought that pc would destroy any game console in terms of Netflix. But I'm not surprised by PS3 beating Xbox 360 and Wii though..
