It's a gun!

Accessory manufacturer Hyperkin may have sounded the first battle cry in the PlayStation Move accessory arms race with its sports victory set, but gaming gubbins Goliath Madcatz is not to be outdone, revealing its own line-up of add-ons for Move.

Mad Catz Charging Station ($29.99) – The same price as the official charger, this has the advantage of being able to charge twice as many Move or Navigation controllers simultaneously, and can charge a couple of Sixaxis or DualShock 3 controllers as well.

Mad Catz 3D Shot ($19.99) – A plastic gun-shaped housing for your Move controller, this is another rival to Sony's catchily-named "PlayStation Move Shooting Attachment". It'll obviously support titles like Time Crisis: Razing Storm, The Shoot and Killzone 3, and comes in a range of colours. What more could you ask for?

Mad Catz Gripz Pak ($9.99) – Nintendo learnt the hard way that motion gaming without correct controller grips can result in a lot of furious customers, so Madcatz is hoping to prevent Move gamers from smashing things through the TV at every opportunity with a silicone sleeve in an assortment of colours. Just don't try to change the grip to match the colour of the Sphere: you'll be wasting your time.

Mad Catz Active USB Extension Cable ($19.99) – Just what we needed, a 15-feet long USB extender for the PlayStation Eye camera, but wait: this one is an active cable, which apparently means it "ensures optimal performance by actively boosting and repeating the signal." So if you want your Eye camera at least 5 metres away from your PS3 this could be $20 well spent, but it probably won't be.

All accessories are expected to launch simultaneously with Move or shortly afterwards.
