Topic: PS5 Create folders feature

In the last update, they added the create folders feature, something I was waiting for since I purchased my PS5.

When I read the changes in the update, I was so happy they added the create folders feature, but then I was so sad when I realized what they actually did...

You cannot add your games to a folder in the Home screen like you do in PS4, instead you have to navigate to your Library and in the screen where you can view your full list of games (not just the installed ones, ALL of your library, in my case I have more than 400 games) and add them one by one to a custom folder.

When there was no option to do that, I had hope they will do something like PS4. If something works ok, why do you change it? But now that they have released this feature to shut up the mouths of people like me who were looking forward to it, I have no hope they will release what I really wanted and needed.

Just my opinion.

For me, I don't mind where they put the folders as much. Personally, I like the fact that the PS5 interface is not exactly the same as the PS4, I bought a new console I want it to look like a new console. I also feel it's nice to have a central location for all the media you have and have had installed on your PS5 and PS4.

My biggest beef is that there are no options to sort the content once it's in the folders. I mean, at least let us sort the content by release date (newest to oldest) or at least allow us to change the order they show in the folder. Sure you can add the items to the folder in the order you want them to appear, but when you miss adding something or get something new, you need to do it all over again.

Also, it would be nice to add wish list items to the folders. Can you imagine having a central location where you can have all your past, present and future content?! As a collector, this would be very useful.

Also while were are at it, let me add PS+ extra and premium games to my library without having to initiate a download. They need to have an "ad to library" button under all content we have even a temporary licence to (***Edit: They do have this on the app but not on the website or the consol***) I know this seems overkill but I would like to have a backlog folder of content I would like to play but haven't installed yet (***Edit: I can now do this***)

Example: Recently the Yakuza/Like a Dragon/Judgement series has been part of my daily play sessions. I have played some of the games but not all and now that they are all going to be playable for a good price or free I want to have a folder. I would like to add the titles I own digitally, the titles I own physically, titles I have a temp licence through +Extra, and titles I want to gain a licence through either with a physical copy or a Playstation Store purchase. Then I want to add any upcoming games that are part of the series with either wishlists or preorders. Now I have all the items from this specific gaming journey in one folder. We could add custom #tags and checkboxes to the titles as well but I feel I may be just getting greedy...lol...

This to me is how folders should work...am I asking too much?
