@Draco_V_Ecliptic Yeah that is fairly early on in Sekiro. A bit after that the game opens up and your are kinda free to explore as you please. Everyone has a different tipping point, but think that is a common place when the game and combat clicks for people.
You could say it's put other games to shame in some ways.. I don't care so much for the extreme difficulty but I do love the combat, hitting a visceral attack in Bloodborne especially felt great. I'm playing witcher 3 right now and having to do nothing but roll, roll, roll, your way through battles with no chance for a visceral seems wrong. I can spend the time to make oils, bombs, and potions but I feel like that's just going to become an endless hunt for more of them, I've never been a fan of using consumables for enhancements.
I do think the combat in zelda botw holds up to the souls games though, its certain not as challenging, but it feels nice.
