Has anyone else using the PS5 controller experienced severe/easily gotten stick drift?

Prior to Dying Light 2 coming out FIFA 22 was the game I played most and I've already had to send one controller back for repairs and in the middle of sending another back.

NEVER had this issue with PS4 controllers.

Since returning the first controller I've made extra care to keep this one clean and used compressed air on analogue sticks to try remove dust but hasnt taken long for this ones stick to start drifting now too.

Anyone else getting this problem or use any controller mods to prevent it?

It's a well known problem with the Dualsense. Not sure there's much you can do about it.
I had it slightly on one of mine, but one of the controller updates seems to have fixed it.

I had the right stick drift downwards slightly which caused minor problems in games with very fine sensitivity. Aiming in Kena would sometimes drift, the map in RE: Village would auto zoom out, etc.
I got my PS5 at launch and have used it a lot, but I take care of my controllers and never had an issue with any on the PS4 I have had since launch. I bought a new Dual Sense as it was starting to annoy me and so far I haven't had any issues.

One of mine occasionally gets these twitches where it goes hard left on the left stick for a very brief moment. It comes and goes and it's not too terrible for most games but it can get annoying sometimes. The other one is perfectly fine.
I wanna celebrate my transition to being self-employed by buying one of the color ones as soon as I get my first pay, so I'll just make that one a backup controller - I don't really need more than 2 most of the time

i’ve always had stick drift problems with sony controllers since the ps4 . you just can’t be “rough” with the analogs , even though the analogs are legitimately flimsy , you just have to be gentle . i’m on my second dual sense controller because i can’t be bothered trying to take it apart , and i tried the other alternatives also . in the past with stick drift problems , i just always trade them in at gamestop for a new one , so i did with the dual sense too .

the only upside to all this is that dual sense controllers are readily in-stock unlike ps4 controllers which have been scarce since late 2019 . so i feel a bit secure in inevitably breaking the dual sense i have right now .

Based on my personal experience, controllers start to drift when tiny particles of dust get into physical sensor of Thumbstick. It is inevitable. And I just clean my controllers. I have cleaned each of my 3 PS4 controllers 3 times, it is very easy, and then they work perfectly. Look in YT on How to Clean Thumbstick sensor.
I have 2 PS5 controllers at the moment, and they have not started to drift yet, but, they are still on warranty, so I will just replace them. But, when the warranty ends, I will clean them by myself.
It is very scary to clean them when you do it for the first time, but then it goes smooth.

I had two Dualshock 4s get stick drift. Had to get both replaced. Dualsense has been good though.

@willi3su How long have you had your Dualshock 4 and Dualsense?

@Bivshtex007

I had the first Dualshock 4 for about...maybe two years or so. Year and a half. Somewhere in there. Then I got it replaced. Then happened again with the replacement about six months after I got that one. The real strange thing is that both were the 500 Million translucent blue version. My packed in standard black Dualshock 4 still works fine.

I've had the Dualsense since PS5 launch.
