Alright. this is starting to get really weird. you know that my previous Forum that i cant play my FRESH copy of GTA SA? well now heres a thing they did. the PS2 Slim scratches discs. why? THEY KEPT SCRATCHING EVERY DISC I HAD. like for this example. i used to play a game alot named wrc rally evolved. and guess what. THEY SCRATCHED IT. and then this day. JUST THIS DAY. i buyed 2 FRESH NEW GAMES. first i tested my new copy of
wrc rally evolved. and guess what my PS2 Slim did. IT SCRATCHED THE DISC! now i know nothing about the ps2 slim but. the ps2 slim is really getting weird. it also scratched my disc of COD 3. And my NEW COPY i bought today of Spongebob the movie game. now this is just a theory. i dont wanna buy WHOLE new games to just play my favourite games. :,)
Oh that sucks. Unfortunately the PS2 slim is a scratch machine. I discovered it last year when I was watching X files on dvd. Completely messed up my discs and I nearly threw the thing out the window.
It's the ribbon attached to the laser. As the laser moves back and forth, the ribbon gets either slack or taut. Unfortunately when there is slack, the curved ribbon actually sits higher than the laser assembly and touches the disc which is spinning, hence the scratched rings around it.
I'm never going to use a PS2 slim again
I posted this in your other thread but I see it applies here too. Unfortunately ive discovered that it's rubbish hardware. I stopped using it when I discovered this fault and went back to using the phat ps2
