alright i got a problem. i bought a weird version of gta san andreas called "GTA San Andreas: Versi Indonesia" i translated it and its from indonesia language. now i tried to put it to my PS2 Slim. however, my PlayStation 2 Slim wouldn't play it. it reads it. the disc is spinning.. but it takes me to the memory card screen. this also does it to Call Of Duty 3 PS2. i put the disc and try and try again. however it worked! but the thing about im scared is about that if i took out my COD 3 PS2 disc it just does that glitch again (the thing is starts up but it goes to the memory card screen or the browser screen). this is a lot of hell things happening to my PS2 Slim. maybe some of you people could fix it.

@playstationtwoslim This occasionally happens with my PS2 Slim. Sometimes it takes a couple of restarts to recognise that there's a disc in there (if memory serves, it actually used to happen to my previous PS2s as well, and they were chunky original consoles).

Whenever it happens to me, I power down the console, take the disc out, check that it's clean, re-seat it and try again. Usually starts working after one or two attempts.

That being said, I'd still discourage you from trying to play any "weird" versions of games!

@RogerRoger do you know how to clean it? i dont understand like ANY of all this. i just bought these two games yesterday. and im scared for buying a new one. but let me try if it works if i put out and put it in. (the disc is kinda clean..its a bit scratched but not really that scratched)

EDIT: i bought my COD 3 and this GTA SA on the same store. COD 3 is just working properly! but uh about the GTA SA its not working at all since i bought it.

@playstationtwoslim I've never properly deconstructed and deep-cleaned my PS2 Slim but, when the disc read error was particularly persistent a couple years ago, I did blow compressed air through its vents and the holes in its disc tray (the kind of compressed air that's safe for electronic use) and it seemed to help, in that I had a game which refused to read no matter what and then boom, it worked first time.
