A friend of mine has a ps4 that won't boot up past the error screen you get when you improperly turn off your ps4. Is it possible to take it to a console repair store to have it fixed if I bring the console?
Have you tried booting in safe mode and repairing the databases? That should fix any problem with boot & shutdown states unless there's actually a physical problem with the hard drive.
Replacing the hard drive on the PS4 is a very quick job and if you're looking at a Pro, an SSD would be a perfect replacement.
