I was speaking to my colleague and we were joking about how it has gotten to the point where I am saying: "Yeah Saturday morning I wasted valuable time gaming because I ended up going down YouTube and YouTube Short rabbit holes again." Whereas when we were younger it was seen that gaming was wasting valuable time where you could read, go outside, learn a skill, etc. But yeah I really hate how addictive YouTube is. I look at Insta a couple times a day. But websites and YouTube really suck my time.
This is very sad. You have amazing talent formed from Retro Studios (Metroid Prime series), moving on and setting up another amazing studio. They started with remasters, becoming the best studio in the industry at doing them. They then took a gamble on these visual remakes, and ended up making two of the best. Funnily enough, the other one that in my opinion lives up to Bluepoint's quality is Metroid Prime Remastered from the studio they originally worked. Just shows the quality standard and pedigree of that group and those they have inspired.
Now closed after a failed attempt at a live service game. The thing that I am particularly amazed at is they were making these remake games in three years. They would have released two by the end of this year. Instead they have released nothing. Such a shame.
If I want to play devil's advocate, it does seem Bluepoint didn't want to make more remakes, so perhaps they actually wanted to do something multiplayer and ultimately bit off more than they can chew. I don't know, hopefully we will find out at some point.
Perhaps it would have been smart for the studio to try a new project/live service thing and have a separate team also doing a remake as backup. Maybe hire new talent in, making the two teams a mix of new and veteran talent. I know it's never this simple, but still.
There are studios who are, in my opinion, still going and are a money pit, while Bluepoint seemed to be a very reliable studio. I hope whatever Media Molecule is making next is a proper game and something that brings success. I loved Tearaway, but the last time they actually made something that moved the needle for PS was in 2011 with LBP2.
The best State of Play they've ever had in my opinion. Only PlayStation Showcases have had more exciting games from Sony for me personally. Very impressed!

Perfect choice
Re: Poll: Should God of War Trilogy Remake Adopt the Gameplay Style of Ragnarok?
Prefer the new style, but I still love the old style, so I would be very happy with either!
