@tangyzesty R* did say it's the future of the franchise, however, I can't see them abandoning single player story mode. That's the main thing that introduces players to GTAO. + years ago when they said GTAO is the future of the franchise, they said it would be included with every future release of the game moving forward. And that every new game will bring massive new updates to online. The question is, will they create new locations, or simply reintroduce the established locations. Currently were in San Andres and gonna be getting Vice city with GTA6. So I fully expect 7 to be based around an updated Liberty City. Meaning that by 7 GTAO players will be able to travel between and explore all 3 locations.
@aj21009 they didn't say "expansion and dlc of GTA IV" they said the expansion of GTA V. As in the continuation of your own character's story in San Andres. And in GTAO you get to occasionally interact with the main characters from story mode. Though Michael doesn't show up, because it's after the events from the story, and the cannon is that Michael is dead. (it's also why the forever "under construction" casino, is finished and interactive in Online). There's also missions for you to get into business with both Trevor and Franklin. If you buy the hanger, Ron is your business manager. And if you buy the nightclub, Tony (aka Gay Tony from GTA IV), is your business partner. R* has put a ton of effort into GTAO, you should at least check it out, even if you only do invite only sessions to avoid the chaos of the trolls and tryhards in public... Lamar is your first contact when you start.
@Mikey856 guessing that you don't know that online does have mouth animations for when you use your mic. You just have to be in game chat for it to work.
