Note that this time last year there were mass layoffs, the year before that was the beginning of insane levels of inflation. Are we going to keep making excuses for them every year until the end of time? You're asking the question "are they just expected to take the brunt of it?" I'd like to ask the question "are we?"

@Juanalf Literally this. I don't buy the tariffs argument. Prices rise every year so that company profits can outdo the year before. The tariffs are just the excuse of the moment by opportunistic and greedy companies to justify a price hike.

Just goes to show how easily the gullible masses can be persuaded to give up their money. I am failing to see what material difference to the PS5 gaming experience the PS5 Pro is going to make. If it's as drastic as people are claiming, it should be self-evident. I shouldn't need to watch a propaganda piece by "tech experts" to be persuaded. As a smart consumer, I think I'll use that money on something I actually want, rather than something Sony is telling me I need.

@riceNpea "Fans" alone don't make up the market base. If there are a large amount of non-"fans" who are not buying the Pro, but have bought a PS5 and would likely buy a PS6, that's a problem.

No thanks, I'm not a sucker. The PS5 is great as is and will continue to be great. A Pro version is unnecessary and I'll be using my money more wisely.

@McBurn Well presumably it's been in development close to the last Digimon Story game, which was in 2017. 2022 was the last update. 2 years might not be long, but 6 certainly is.

They look after their own, they don't cut their roles when they can let go of the people actually doing the work instead. @NotSoCryptic This is the problem with the "innocent until proven guilty" mindset, it puts the legal system on a pedestal and pretends as if it's flawless, perfect. It's not. Plenty of people are found not guilty or not responsible in court for reasons outside of guilt. Others are found guilty or responsible erroneously or dubiously. I'm actually of the opinion that court cases have little relevance to the individual. I'm perfectly capable of weighing evidence on my own, I don't need some judge or jury to come to a conclusion for me.

I entirely expected gamers to be jumping over themselves to defend policies that are anti-consumer. Wasn't disappointed.
