@rjc-32 Indeed. I'm with you there. Partially the reason I stopped playing PC. (The other half is that 90% of matches are plagued with hackers) To be fair, if I recall you can load software updates through other sources. If they just released the update files that you need to download and stick on a USB, that'd be something.
@rjc-32 That is a different story. I'm pretty sure devs have to submit their updates to Sony for review, and Sony handles the distribution. So I think they COULD switch that off at any point.
@rjc-32 Take it from a software engineer.
The trophy syncing is just that "Syncing".
The trophies are earned and handled through the games themselves and the OS, then information synced through Sony's endpoints. Realistically, seeing as all trophy lists are integrated. I would hazard a guess that Trophies won't be affected as it isn't a seperate system for each platform, but the same system being used for each. Proof of this is the recent trophy level changes that applied, without system updates, to PSVita, PS3, PS4, and PS5 at the exact same time.
@OrigamiCrane This is why I have over 800 boxed games in my flat. If it's MEGA cheap or digital only, I'll buy it. But generally if possible I will avoid digital.
