Re: Not Even Japanese Magazine Famitsu Likes PS4 Exclusive Knack

butcherknife

I finished Knack on normal last week and I liked the game. The environments were really amazing, there were a couple good story elements, and I liked the boss fights. Everything else was good but too simple. The gameplay is good, but no depth...reminded me of God of War, but without any progression. And it is a fairly long game...so when there is no progression...long becomes a bit annoying. The game should have been shorter and at a budget price...and they could have made it shorter by just eliminating some of the fighting, as there are a lot of tunnel fighting that just seemed unnecessary...probably wouldn't have noticed if there was a progression system in place, since I would have been working toward something other than looking for treasure boxes, but like I said, there isn't. Ultimately, it is a good game with several mis-steps...but I looked past the mis-steps and had a good time playing and looking forward to what happened next.

Played this through Chapter 5 with my 9 year old over the past couple nights after work and school. She with the DualShock 4 as Knack and me with the Vita as RoboKnack. We both really like it....and are making time tonight to keep continue. By the way - The Vita works great. Seriously, it is sort of crazy how good it works without lag and it looks fantastic on the Vita.

I feel like this might be why we have no idea what several of Sony's first party developers are working on...possibly they don't want to announce until after the peripheral is announced. Also, I remember a couple developers being really excited about what they are working on...saying how what they are working on is amazing with a bunch of exclamation points.

Re: Killzone: Shadow Fall Pre-Orders Strong, Knack Stomping Beyond: Two Souls

@Wesker It is not the full version.
@SkySilver18155 I plan to get the full version...I just haven't pre-ordered. Because they are giving a free version away on the PSN which I reason means the full version on the PSN will be discounted for PS+ members. Otherwise I would have pre-ordered already. On a side note - I will say that I am getting the feeling when reading all the previews for DriveClub that it may need more development time. I would prefer it not be a launch game if it does need more time.

The game is OK...I would say a 6/10. It is mostly fun but when playing it I felt like it could have been better. I would have liked a bit more in the tricks department and a bit more in the bike and player modifications. Player mods would be nice to make the player hang on to the bike more, less likely to fall off, etc. I would have like a few more big jumps, too. Which got me thinking that an SSX style 2D side-scroller would be fantastic. I would still recommend it to folks that enjoy motorcycle platforming.

I have only made it to around LVL 10 or 11...so far it is fun. Simple dumb fun. I would like more games like this. I did notice the cotrols are solid for the most part but there is a bit of wonkiness sometimes. Liek the reticle moves or continue to moves without me touching the analog stick. However, I heard that this goes away when the sensitivity is turned down all the way, but I have not yet tried it.

Re: Talking Point: Does Vita Really Need Online Multiplayer Games?

Yes. It does. IMO, the PS Vita is less a "portable" console and more a "personal" console. Sure I can take the Vita outside my house, but I don't most of the time. Instead I play in my house...in any room I want to...I don't have to sit in my living room and play on my big screen TV. And I can play whenever the TV is being used by other family members.
