I’m not really invested in sonic in a way where I’d care if this is bad. If it is, I’d just have another conversation piece and something new to dunk on with my mate in DMs.

I wanted to say this looks nothin like the games but that probably comes off as mean, in my case it’s not an insult because I don’t mind a completely original adaptation but this really looks virtually nothing like Yakuza and I wouldn’t know who’s who without outfit clues.

@tameshiyaku nah don’t worry there’s nothing hypocritical about your statement at all. I think what catches my attention more is how far it’s straying away from the series. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. I like J-dramas so I do expect this to be fairly well written.

@KyushuTrail without spoiling any of the games, that’s a decently vague way to sum up what’s happening. Kiryu spends majority of the games putting the Yakuza life behind and try living as a normal civilian.

@Ryu_Niiyama on a general sense I agree, although I’ll still play devil’s advocate; on a general level Kojima has a lot of excellent long cutscene with a lot of stuff crammed into it that’s interesting to listen to. I can see Kojima being able to translate that type of engrossing dialogue. I don’t think or at least don’t fully expect him to have a hard time transitioning to movies. Good luck either way!
