Consoles do not generate income. They are sold at a loss. What makes money is game sales and keeping your games off of the biggest platform is bad business. I'm not sure what it is they understand. Nintendo gets away with it because it's what all the kids want. It's a very family orientated system that sells at a very cheap price point. PC is slowly taking over though and it's only going to get worse when it's even more easily accessible through console like hardware and of course the handhelds.
