I respect the man but when he made FF The Spirits Within, a movie I liked but tanked at the box office that almost caused Squaresoft to go bankrupt which is why they merged with Enix(also thanks to the success of KH1 and I think it was FFX at that time)

And Sakaguchi is happy with where he is now why ask him to come back? Still waiting for that Terra Battle console port which reached the milestone on his kickstarter btw, o wait, he took the money and ran lol

@NEStalgia so how much did Crisis Core do on xb? it did Ok on PS, Switch and PC as well I believe.

@TrickyDicky99 That's weird Nintendo had 9 exclusives from SE, Sony had 6 and the rest were multiplats.

@Martijn87 I read that FF9 Remake started for Switch but is moved to PS and xb. Though I think it will be a multiplatform release.

@SamMR First Tomb Raider like the 2013 one? It didn't sell 8 million, it sold 3M across multiple platforms. Rise then released on xb on pc which flopped on xb selling 300k copies while it did better on PC and then PS4 later.

I think there is NO ISSUE to those who played on Steam and PSN is available in their countries.. however I feel for those in some parts of the world in Asia for example where the only PSN accounts are only HK, SG, JPN (I think Indonesia has it as well) however for those in the Philippines they sell PlayStation products there but creating accounts on the PS4/5 automatically puts one in the HK region.

That's weird I was told that 1Million sold, and is MULTIPLATFORM, is a 'success' but that FF16 sold 3Million on PS5 alone is a 'fLoP'.

@Cloud39472 yup he's the first one people went after back in 2020 even though there's a writer(Nojima) and the producer(Kitase)---this man had the final say in things. All due to Remake being "Kingdom Hearts-y" on some parts lol

@Pistolega FYI that Kingdom Hearts guy wanted a 1:1 Remake, you should point your fingers to the OG director who is now the producer of the Remake Trilogy: Yoshinori Kitase, he wanted some changes.

@TruestoryYep really? so Persona 3 Reload had a smaller marketing budget? Didn't ATLUS plastered that game everywhere same goes for that New Yakuza game? Also since I never mentioned it, I am glad those that sold 1M, that's great. Any title that gets released nowadays would be glad to reach those numbers. Even Unicorn Overlord celebrated selling over 500K

@MrMagic the discourse surrounding that ShT last year man, 3M for FF16 in a few days "oEmGEee a FlOp" then a multiplat sells 1M and the narrative shifts "OMG success", happy for those games that managed to get to 1M btw on multiplats but saying 3M is a "flop" on a single platform screams mental gymnastics especially on that one dying console brand in green.

@DarkTron it was a misprint between the Data disc and Play Disc, so for the Asian versions, you just install the "Play Disc" and afterwards insert the "Data Disc" shouldn't be a hassle.
