In the leaked spreadsheet Sony referred to this as a Remaster for PS5
They did not refer to it as a Remake
These are two very different things. Horizon Forbidden DawnRemaster for PS5 is likely putting the PS4 version in the PS5 engine for minor graphical tweaks, and offering up the same Quality vs Performance settings as sequel.
No more, no less.
Waste of resources? When games are developed, teams are not doing everything all at once, so while next game is being designed — in pre-alpha — this gives Guerilla's developers a small project to do. Plus gives junior staff a project to learn the new PS5 engine.
On the PC this game's not even hitting 60fps at 4K with an RTX3090 … seems like there's some fundamental performance issues.
That aside, even as a huge fan of the original Batman Arkham series this hasn't gelled with me since first announcement.
Maybe it's because it looked like four player co-op, or that it looks like generic city and not Gotham, or dead Batman, or whatever … just never fancied it.
The poor performance means I won't even pick it up for my Steam Deck.

Already own every one of these titles, some of the PS4 ones on disc … would really like to swap them to digital for my PS5, but not for these prices.
Wish Sony had some kind of programme to trade discs for digital.
