For those of you up on your high horse about how you never preorder season passes and people who bought this are dumb, consider this:
Here in the US there was no way to purchase the collector’s edition without also purchasing the season pass. So for someone like myself who was genuinely excited for this release and wanted to support the developer by going all in on the collectors edition I’m now stuck with a $20 IOU. Talk about “goodwill”.
I’d sooner use someone’s arse as a cereal bowl before Bamco sees another cent from me.
@Mosquito8991 I don’t know where you’re located but here in the US having to put $5 down on a game to preorder it highway robbery. Best Buy and Amazon require zero down to preorder and on top of that they offer a 20% discount. Giving Gamestop an interest free loan just doesn’t compare.
That said Gamestop does have its purpose and I’m not against preorders for collectors editions and niche titles.
@Tsurii And of course I managed to forget about the announced release. 😂 Egg on my face in that regard. However I'll stand by my main point which is this article is unnecessarily sensational.
@Tasuki While it may seem like I'm attacking the reviewer, and while the initial gaff is indeed his, the review still has to pass through your editors. I know I come off as barking at the moon over what most would consider a small mistake but something like this doesn't exactly exude professionalism.
For clarity's sake I never called these games "must play". That was a quote lifted from the review. I have zero vested interest in how this game is received. The review could simply be "These games are so rusty that they literally gave me tetanus. 1/10" and the only argument you'd hear from me would be over the use of literally.
@get2sammyb What were the two points docked for? According to the review itself it's a collection of must play games that are nearly perfectly emulated and includes a good chunk of bonus content and added gameplay features. Again there wasn't a single negative listed.
The score given doesn't jive with the review. Why bother even assigning a score at that point? Or is it site policy to give lower scores for ports/remasters?

@Flaming_Kaiser “Nobody forces you to buy a seasonpass”
Between the US and the UK at least 3 editions were bundled with the season pass.

While I do appreciate the baseless conjecture I'd bet a basket of clickthroughs that this is the English title for Monster Hunter Stories.

Re: Review: The Disney Afternoon Collection (PS4)
@get2sammyb Like how it was arbitrarily awarded an 8/10 overall score when the reviewer didn't list any negative aspects?
