I see the Steam Decks for sale on Amazon for $800, $1100. Both the ps5 and Series X are much cheaper with both being $650, new, and both sell cheap used.
In Canada you can buy a select handful of digital codes for a few digital games in places like Walmart for Xbox and Nintendo consoles. The downside is that these digital codes are always full price and never drop in price.
There are both improvements on the ps5 and items that look better on the ps4. The main improvements that I see on the ps5 are minor objects in the background and slightly more detail in the sand. I personally find I can see more detail in her hair on the ps4 over the ps5. The ruined bridge has more details on the ps4 over the ps5. Sure there is more details on the path on the ps5 over the ps4, but I find that the ps5 looks generic were as the original ps4 has a distinct aesthetic and feel.
Using AI is not the full solution, but part of the process. What MS could do is use AI to run the program and see what errors that it run into and fix the errors to make the game backwards compatibility. Sony could do the exact same thing to get older Playstation titles working on modern consoles.
@breakneck I don't see that as a real issue because most people do have a TV, and the only people who don't are people living in small apartments or condos. The only way the portal makes sense is when you might have multiple people sharing the ps5 and the TV that the ps5 is hooked up to is being used. And it implied from the ads that the portal needs to be close to the ps5 so it likely can be only used in the same household, could be totally wrong on this point.
Here is my guess. Sony knew they would have to pay a huge bonus to the developer so they hire a private investigator to dig up dirt on the said developer so they could fire him with cause and avoid the bonus that was due. Likely everything Sony did was legitimate, so they could make there case.
I personally think Sony should try making games that are not the AAA games that are cheaper and faster to produce. The problem with most game development right now is that development studios seem to only want to make games that are in their mind are guaranteed to make at least 2-3 times the development costs or it not even worth making the game. And it seems that if a game cost less than $100 million, it just not worth making. Large developer sure we could make this game for about $1 million are guaranteed to make nearly $25-$40 million in sales but that just is not enough.
I personally was never a fan of Demon Souls or the later Dark Souls games. I don't enjoy replaying the same sections over and over again just to progress a bit further next time. Most of the From Software games are a niche type game that has become very successful with Elden Ring. I did find any of the Dark Souls games particularly interesting, but the original ps3 Demon Souls game was interesting and unique but brutally hard. The later Dark Souls games, likely were more successful but were more generic than the original Demon Souls. I will admit I've only played the various games for a few hours or so, but that is my impression/experience of the games.
I have never understood the motivation to play a game on a PC when it's readily available on consoles. Consoles are dedicated games machines which can nearly instantly play any game for that console. And for some reason the PC gaming market is a growing market. But most games that qualify for a Teen rating get released for consoles first.
It seems to be games that are primarily multiplayer are coming to the Playstation at some point. The Secondary titles getting Playstation releases are games that have a large multiplayer component.
I can see the advantages of the ps portal, but what is the point? I personally want to just sit down at my TV and use one of my consoles to play a game. Perhaps if your in a different room or sharing a console it might be useful.
The problem is that the state of play very often doesn't really show off much. I am watching the state of play to see if there is anything you might be remotely interested in playing, and there is very little I am interested in. If the state of play is showing off supermarket simulator, then Sony is clearly doing something wrong.

Re: Talking Point: Is PSVR2 Worth Buying In 2025?
Personally I wouldn't mind getting the VR for the ps4 cheap exclusively to play the Neptunia VR game, but that is it.

Side note Lost Soul Aside is only releasing for the ps5, there is no ps4 release, despite the below page stating that.
