If Sony launched with the black unit the white unit would be wanted more that anything. White will look just fine in my TV stand so I'll stick with white, as it is my Pro is behind the TV so it's never seen.
I've been expecting this price increase for a while, and the $69 price is reasonable in my opinion. Nobody likes paying more for things we want but all pricing is increasing across the board, our past time is just catching up.
The older I get the less important trailers are becoming. If it's something that looks interesting I'll give it shot regardless if it has a huge marketing push with trailers and the such. But I do admit that a good CGI cinematic with a good hook always gets me.
I have a feeling Sony is doing the opposite of Microsoft in strategy. The PS5 being shown is their base unit and they have a PS5 Pro planned later in the year. Granted this was before the economic mess we're in now so this could backfire in grand form. This would give Sony the edge in both the base and high end units in terms of power.
I know it comes down to the games in the end, but if a developer has access to more power on PS5 that can be the turning point to come out on top. Xbox really botched the launch of their system but didn't the PS4 have the better looking games? I only game on Playstation systems so my memory could be wrong on that.
