@LogicStrikesAgain Did you compare price history for those games on PlayStation and Steam or just look at current prices? If the latter, this isn't really a useful comparison. Games often go on sale at different times between the two stores, so looking at a single point in time doesn't actually tell you which store has better prices on the whole. For example, I looked up the price history for Assassin's Creed Shadows and the lowest price on Steam itself was $42, same as PS Store (and it was apparently as low as $27 on Ubisoft's storefront).
Speaking anecdotally, I tend to see games slightly cheaper on Steam, or at least hit a lower price a few months before they drop on PS Store (when they're not just the same price). But this is just what I see for the relatively small number of games I keep on both wishlists. I have no idea which store has the lowest prices in general.
If it's reasonably priced I could be interested. Not to replace my PS5, but to supplement it. I'm interested in some indie games that release only for PC and while my basic desktop can probably play some of them on lower graphics settings, some it can't handle at all. I don't need something that can play AAA titles on the best graphics settings though, so specs a bit lower than PS5 would be totally fine for me.
I'm finishing up Expedition 33 right now and it's amazing. Great story, characters, gameplay, and music. Pretty much a perfect game. On the other hand, I dropped FF7 Remake around 2/3 through because it was such a slog. I really enjoyed the gameplay, but the story and exploration were pretty lackluster. I loved the original FF7 back in the day, but remaking it over three games instead of one or two was a terrible decision.
I'll buy the mid-gen refresh like usual. I mostly play indie games anyway and most of them will still be released for PS5 for a while after PS6 comes out.
I only played Remake for the first time last year. I really liked the battle system, but I dropped it after chapter 11 because I got tired of all the filler. Too many chapters were just walking from one place to another with nothing important happening.
It's a real shame. If the Remake project had been two games it could have been great.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 May Be Closer Than We Think as Cloud's VA Is Back in the Booth
Kingdom Hearts 4 will hopefully come out in 2026, in which case 2027 makes the most sense for FF7 Remake part 3.
