Re: EA Sports F1 25 (PS5) - Another Fine Racer That Mostly Sticks to the Formula

PS12345

As per the review, serious misstep removing the option to create your own driver for My Team mode.

I don't think many will want to run the team and then step into a car with one of their random driver hires rather than themselves. Yes, I know you can race as yourself in career mode but that's a different way of playing altogether. Why not give people the option to do either, as in previous years?!

If they dropped this in the name of 'realism' because F1 drivers aren't team bosses and vice versa, then that's a very dumb choice for what's a simcade title at best.

No buy this year, because we all know they'll put this back to how it was next year and claim it as a great new feature again.

@Oram77 It looks janky and rough from what I've seen online today and last night, world is small, graphics are more like a PS4 era isometric game. And this at 30fps?

Perhaps with patches and more content, although devs have apparently ruled out 60fps 🤷‍♀️

Compare with something like The Ascent, same style graphics in a bigger more complex world and years old and it runs at 4K60, or near it.

I think 60 something sounds reasonable score for this, even with the low price point.

I'm disappointed because I wanted this to be great, but perhaps I'll give it a whirl if it comes to ps+ at some point.

@Dampsponge Perhaps the more pertinent question would be, why would you rush to an article specifically about a digital sale to make an irrelevant point about discs?

It'd be like me making a comment on an article about a physical sale along the lines of, 'why would I buy a disc when I've been all digital for years?"
😂

Re: Switch 2's Performance Best Compared to PS4, According to Tech Experts

PS12345

I pre-ordered last week through habit of doing so with new consoles as much as anything, going back decades.

It was only when I took time to weigh everything up that I realised having this particular new toy, regardless of price, didn't really make sense. Cancelled earlier today. First new console from the big three I haven't bought on release day since before the PS1. Even if I've sold some soon after, I've always wanted the tech.

One and a half gens behind, LCD screen (sorry but just NO), new handhelds with properly decent tech likely from MS, Valve and the windows crews over the next year or so, and of course the usual issues re their controller analogue sticks....I don't even need to stray into pricing for the games, memory and anything else because that's another story.

PS5 Pro and PC will do me and if I do get an urge for a handheld I'll look at the alternatives in a year or so.

My 'unplayed library' salutes me!
