Been disappointed by it. For me, this generation goes to xbox whereas the previous one was clearly a triumph for ps4. I feel before there was a lot of different stuff for me to play on PS but now there's not much, all the experimental and interesting stuff is on the other console: seems to me Playstion has become more about the blockbusters and I'm not that much into those.
Gamepass is probably part of the reason: why buy games when I can play them there?
@JuggaloRazzam That's not what I was saying and your analogy is poor. Calling these kinds of games "adventure games" instead of "action-adventure" is more like calling Forzs Horizon off-road racing game.
You wouldn't call a 4 by 4 with a plough tractor? Because it's not. It may have parts and functions which are the same as tractor but it's not a tractor.
It's not as much about whether I agree or not, I just don't think genres are something everybody can just go and redefine however they will. Or of course they can but I don't really see the point in that. Using genres or whatever terms means for others to understand what is being said and to be able to put things in context.
If these are adventure games, what are the "other" adventure games? Games like Thimbleweed Park being a modern example?
Why name the adventure games and make a list based on such a genre definition instead of calling them "action-adventures" or just "action" as they mostly are? What makes these games more adventure than action? Because they are adventurous?
None of those are adventure games. Action-adventure maybe even though they are mostly action.
Clue: barely any of those games have any puzzles at all and if they do - like Uncharted - they are few and far between. In actual adventure games it is all about puzzles.

Re: Xbox Game Hi-Fi Rush Announced for PS5, Out Next Month
It's perfectly playable as a beat 'em up even if you suck at rhythm games, you just score less - and maybe get special meter slower.
It's really funny and one of the best games last year.
Re: Poll: What Will Win Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2023?
Honestly Hifi-Rush should win it, the only original game this year, afaik. A lot of great games this year but not much on the originality department.

Re: Square Enix Bafflingly Backtracks on Final Fantasy 16 Sales, Blames 'Slow' PS5 Adoption
I'm not buying new releases at the current full price. And if I don't buy it day one, I can wait and probably buy it when it's 30 € or something.
60€ is my breaking point for new releases. Try to get me pay 70-80€, you'll end up with whatever low sale price is.

Maybe not rewrite genre definitions?
Re: Mini Review: Paradise Killer (PS5) - A Wild Murder Mystery That Puts the Player in Charge
I can recommend it too. I guess open-endedness may bother some, the fact no one is telling you if you figured things out correctly or not.
Re: Poll: How Long Should Games Be?
I don't think it's that simple as it depends a lot on the genre. For action game or any basic story-driven game, 10-20 hours is enough.
For RPGs 30+ hrs - up to 50-60 hrs.
