Perhaps Sony trying to add obstructive ads to the PS5 had something to do with this mess. After the massive backslash Sony had no choice than to rush and remove those ads while breaking everything else in their servers.
Imagine paying $700.00 dollars for a PS5 Pro that doesn't include a disc drive, can't enhance games without a developer's patch and now it will display ads that can't be disabled.
With so much talk about the PS6, it's already making the whole PS5 Pro an irrelevant $700.00 purchase that doesn't include a disc drive and lacks the ability to automatically enhance every game without a developer's patch.
@MARl0 : Psychology 101.... shopping anxiety of missing out drives demand, which ultimately drives up sales...and I'm hoping you are older enough to understand how the business world works.
@SilentBluntman MMM... Nope....it was highly reported that Nintendo created the Switch shortages as a way to control their yearly profits.... something we already saw Sony doing by creating just 12,000 PS5 Pro limited editions for the ENTIRE world.
If that's not causing consumer anxiety then you don't know the meaning of the word.
@SilentBluntman : Both Sony and Nintendo are no strangers to scummy sales tactics, as you can't deny Nintendo kept their Switch fake shortages for years when they realized their "precaution strategy" turning into high profits while causing consumer anxiety.
Thanks to the Nintendo Switch we have come to learn that when a game console sales out it doesn't mean high demand but company self induced shipment shortages as creating fake demand ultimately causes consumer anxiety in missing out.
I have no doubt Sony would do the same by just shipping a small amount every week and calling it "high demand"
I'm sure if we make that game massively fail the way Concord did, Sony once and for all will give up on LIVE-SERVICE games and focus on what we all want... single player experiences.
With so much talk about the PS6 already, I'm surprised some people would even consider the PS5 pro that will have an expiration date of 3 years tops as Sony moves all studios to fully work on the PS6 by 2026 with the system releasing a year and half later.

Re: PS5 Pro, 30th Anniversary Consoles Now Available at More Retailers
$700.00?
No disc drive?
No enhancements without developers' patch?
No thank you

Re: PlayStation Fans Gleefully Snitch on 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro Scalpers
If Sony really wanted the actual fans to get one they would be putting restrictions such as:
While all matching the same first and last name.
But I guess Sony profits no matter the scalpers.

It seems quite fun.

Re: Bickering Begins Over PS5 Pro's Inability to Sell Out
@SilentBluntman Nintendo competing for LCD screens with mobile devices as the reason for their "shortages"???...lol
We NEVER heard of the mobile companies ever complaining about LCD shortages....not even through the COVID days....find me a news article about it.

Re: Prospective PS6 Purchasers Would Consider a Portable Model
@EfYI : Of course Sony isn't talking about the PS6 yet....they first want you to fork $700.00 bucks for an a PS5 re-release.
Re: Bickering Begins Over PS5 Pro's Inability to Sell Out
@Ralizah : It's not a conspiracy when it's a well known fact, Nintendo's plan worked flawlessly outselling absolutely everyone.

Re: 'Difficult to Comment' on Astro Bot's Square Enix Snub, Says Team Asobi
It's as simple as Square Enix didn't want to get involved with a franchise that it's not theirs.
Sometimes the truth is the most obvious one.

WB/Netherealm with their shameful and overpriced overall content on Mk1 not worth my support.
Re: Eve's Body Physics Get a Boost in Surprise Stellar Blade PS5 Patch
Are we saying the standard PS5 is so weak that it couldn't handle a simple giggle patch.
I mean Dead or Alive has been doing it since the PS1 days.
Let's just say Sony has asked developers to just add anything and call it "a Pro enhancement"
