In my humble opinion, the ps3 to ps4 generation transition was probably slower because the ps3 had its issues and some people may have waited longer to make the jump, plus after what has happened in the last year globally, some people may have more disposal income to invest in the ps5. Also the ps4 was a major success and the ps5 is massive jump in tech. Great news for Sony and the future of this generation though. Kudos...
