That's great. I'm eager to see this game release. However, I base purchase price on expected at hours. For AAA that expectation is 1:1 otherwise I'm waiting for a sale.
The primary draw for me is the auto-backup to the cloud. I had a drive failure and lost saves before subscribing. I don't do multiplayer and the free games are either games I'm not interested in or already own. Having two consoles makes it easier to transfer saves than using USB but the primary draw is the off-site backup. PS Now would be a great benefit but it's not a dealbreaker and only if it didn't cost anything more.
@lacerz Yeah. I've been having for thirty years. Every console purchase was done for exclusives. Third party games hey sprinkled in somewhere. Spencer seems to think he can sell a system designed for third part games and games from older XB systems. That's not looking at the future. That's living in the past.
@BlueOcean CDPR has made it clear Cyberpunk for PS4 will receive the PS5 upgrade version free. I thought Ubisoft made the same commitment. I could be wrong there. Either way, the PS4 version will play on the PS5 so to a degree there's really non-issue there.
If he thinks selling a new system based on third party games and backward compatibility is a good strategy he hasn't been paying attention. There's a reason MS said last year they saw Amazon as primary competition: they're not even competing for the #1 spot. They're just trying not to be last.
They sure won't be demonstrating any first-party games. They need to demonstrate something. Sadly, whatever they have doesn't match my PC so I'm not seeing what they're target market is unless it's to be outsold by Sony.

Brought to you by the same people who eat Tide Pods and demanded "safe spaces" on college campuses.
