Re: 'Increasingly Selective Consumers' to Blame for Underperformance of Blades of Fire

Kriandis

@KoopaTheGamer
This right here!
Marketing is so easy to do now a days. All the developer has to do is make a video of actually playing the game while talking to other people involved in the game making, post it, let media outlets like....Oh I don't know....Push Square know about it, and it advertises itself. Or even, hear me out....Continually invite media to play your game, and it literally markets itself.

Marketing can be done by the developers at no cost to them. It is just about getting the product out there, and keep getting it out there.
A perfect example is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Sandfall did a great job of keeping media, and gamers, informed, at little to no cost for marketing.

Re: What the Hell Has Happened to Call of Duty?

I am Gen X
We are the entertainment generation.
I have seen corporate greed first soak into music, then movies, and now video games.
People that grew up in my generation seen this coming a mile away as soon as gaming surpassed music and movies, for in profit entertainment.

We seen the music industry fall prey to corporate greed, then movies, and now video games.

Not to say that there are not a lot of great independent art out there, it is just the nature of the greedy beast!
People talk about it as if it surprising..It is not surprising at all, when you have seen it happen before.

Re: Poll: How Do You Feel About The Last of Us Part 2, 5 Years Later?

Kriandis

@nessisonett What do you mean, says nothing???
(SPOILER!!!!) Ellie went on a unrelenting mission for revenge for Joel, and it cost her the one thing that Joel passed down to her....Which was how to play guitar, which she loved and enjoyed.

When Abby bit off two fingers from Ellie's fretting hand, Ellie lost Joel all over again.
Abby did not take that from Ellie, Ellie took it from herself.

The game is about how revenge can take more from you, than what you will get from performing it.

Re: Hands On: MindsEye Is a Boring Mess

OUCH!
I did not see a lot of promise in this game as it is just a cheaper looking version of games such as GOW, Vanquish, and Deus Ex.
I was really hoping for the best for it, but some upstarts just have loftier goals, than they do discipline.

@Flaming_Kaiser The ending was perfect. Ellie went on a path of revenge and it cost her dearly. The ending shows that.
It cost her her relationship with her spouse and adopted child, and cost her the one thing that Joel taught her and that she could have passed on to her child. How to play guitar.
Losing 2 fingers on her fretting hand was just like losing Joel all over again. That is what I took from the ending.

@AverageGamer
Fillion and Dewayne Johnson are about the same age, and Bautista is older than both of them....You mean those two are not action stars???

Conditioning coaches are amazing now, especially when dealing with actors.

People act like 50 is old now, and I do not understand why. I am exactly 50 years old and still skateboard and MTB.
Tony Hawk and Rodney Mullen are 56 and 58 respectively, and what do they still do.....Shred and rip, and that is WAY harder than any actor in any choreographed, constantly practiced, fight scene.

@Balaam_
This is the Uncharted I wanted to see, and every other Uncharted fan....Nathan Fillion....as Nathan Drake!

And then Stephen FREAKING Lang as Sully.....COME ON!!!!!! THAT ROLE IS PERFECTLY CAST!

Stephen Lang is an Icon, and was the best written character in "Into The Badland's", and Was AMAZING!, repeat AMAZING! in Tombstone as Ike Clanton

Re: Rumour: Ubisoft Turmoil Continues as Shareholders Consider Buyout

Kriandis

At this point, everything is up in the air. It also bothers me that the article did not mention, any time at all,....Beyond Good And Evil 2....That being said.

Top game developers seem to have lost their way because they have forgotten, or have been pressured to forget, by shareholders.....Fun Comes First.

I have not heard any woes from Nintendo. Look at the sales charts, in any country...Nintendo games are always on top. What truly cracks me up, is before the Switch came out gamers were saying Nintendo is dying, they should just focus on games!

Guess what, that is all Nintendo has ever done, and that mentality has moved the Switch to staggering sales numbers!

I own more games for my Switch, than any other current console. Why?!?!? Because Nintendo games are FUN and I do not get nickled and dimed for content!

Gaming is not dying, just certain developers, and it is all because of their greed.

Re: PS5 Sales Still Trending 8% Ahead of the PS4 in USA

Kriandis

I honestly, and truly, do not know how.
I am 50, and this generation has been the worst PS generation in my lifetime.

I rarely play my PS5, and honestly regret buying it. I have maybe 20 games for my PS5 while I have over 120 for my Switch.

SInce I have always played P.C. games and own a Switch, and planning on buying a Switch 2, I do not thing I will ever buy another PS console. I love Playstation! But this current gen has left a very bad taste in my mouth.....The amount of remasters is just so damn ridiculous, PS PLUS rising in cost and having different tiers, and lack of new gaming content with new, or old I.P.'s, which in turn, I do not see that get any better, just really makes any interest I have in my current, or next PS console, go down to ZERO.

Sony will really have to pull a rabbit out of their a$$ to get me to buy a PS6!
