@GirlVersusGame If you don't want people replying to your comments on a public forum, then don't post comments on a public forum.
Also, the stats and figures will always show a better picture than your anecdotal evidence. You can believe whatever you want, but "my friends use mods" is not relevant when it's easily found information that most games don't have mods, therefore most games are not played with mods.
You're right, I don't speak for everyone. Guess what? Neither do you!
If you want to remain ignorant, then do so. I don't care if you want to listen or not, you're wrong, and I'm going to point that out when I see it. Nothing was stopping you from simply not replying to me...
@GirlVersusGame There were over 20,000 games released on Steam alone last year, and the vast majority of games have no mods available for them. Therefore, it stands to reason that the vast majority of PC gamers do not play modded games.
@AverageGamer it obviously doesn't open up additional revenue when the article cites a source stating that PC port sales only made up 1.5% of their game sales revenue.
It's painfully obvious that the only reason they made this decision is because some accountant ran the numbers and saw that the cost of porting the games did not result in an adequate return on the investment.
If they had made more money from PC ported titles, they wouldn't have made this decision... Regardless of what the people who use this site and want to gatekeep their games think about it.
$$$ = further ports.
No $$$ = no further ports.
Super simple. Has nothing to do with what the fanboys want or think. At all.
@Gunbeld Yeah, and if you're such a closed-minded fanboy that you only listen to the opinions of people who share your preference in a video game console, your opinion is irrelevant.
"Over the past few years, PC ports contributed just 1.5% to its overall revenue, with the vast majority of its record-breaking income generated by its own ecosystem."
This is really the only relevant information in this article. What the hardcore Playstation fans who use this website think is irrelevant. It's obvious that Sony ran the numbers and saw that the money they invested into porting their games to PC did not result in a significant bump in revenue. If you spend millions of dollars investing into ports that don't result in reasonable profits, why would you continue investing in more ports?
Sony dipped their toe in the multiplatform thing, saw that it wasn't worth the effort, and decided not to do it any more. The people who use this site and want to gatekeep their games because they think other people playing them somehow affects their experience are not on the same page as Sony when it comes to this topic.
Yeah, that's silly. You could have browsed availableods before buying the game.
And the fact that the mods you wanted don't exist has literally nothing to do with whether or not games should be ported to another platform. Believe it or not, people play games on PC without mods. In fact, the vast majority of games are played on PC by players who don't use mods.
What does the existence or non-existence of a mod have to do with whether a game should be multi-platform?
So wait... You downloaded one port, and then you downloaded mods for that game that made the game easier, and then you blamed the fact that the game was ported to PC for you choosing to download entirely optionalpds that made the game easier?
