Crying wolf Sony need to let this go. The deal isn't going to dent Sony's dominance one bit, especially not in Japan... oh wait, they're being investigated over that aren't they?
They act like they're the underdogs yet they have been paying their way to dominance for years.
Basically IMO it boils down to early adopters of PS5 needing to justify their purchase having purchased the weaker console this gen. Hence the clamouring for exclusives which benefit no-one but Sony.
@NinoBrown I'm just joking. I'd honestly be surprised if PS5 doesn't support native 1440p though. Would seem an odd decision to me, but what do I know?
Get an Xbox Series S/X instead. They both support 1440p natively. I don't see why Sony would have an issue unlocking scaling in what essentially are compact form factor PCs.
This is purely an underhand tactic to avoid publicly revealing the price; cherry picking Sony fanboys as the first customers probably along with a request not to reveal the price.
