Re: Soapbox: PS5 Is Beautiful When Its Distinctive Features Are Used Properly

I know devs are still in a learning curve with the DualSense, but maybe I'm just old, but I found the implementation of the half-way down trigger in Ratchet & Clank irritating and tired my finger out. I'm sure there's cool things to be done, but I haven't played a non-gimmicky use of it yet imho. Unfortunately this reminds me of the DualShock 4 with its light bar. Tomb Raider's torch effect was AMAZING in a dark room, but the fact I can think of that and of few other implementations has me concerned and agreeing with what this article is trying to drive home.

Re: Talking Point: Do You Agree with PS5's Approach to Generations?

Isn't this argument an off-shoot of Nintendo argument? Like graphics don't matter. Switch is evidence of that. I hear fans say it all the time that the game experience is what sells consoles... not the graphics.

Ultimately there's new hardware that will be taken advantage of. I'm excited to see that hardware used, but I don't need games day 1 that maximize the hardware. Just give me good games. I look at my currently installed library of games and I'm not even joking when I say that close to 1/2 of them are remasters or OG from last gen. On Xbox I just finished a play through of the original Gears of War trilogy and loved it. I'm currently playing Castlevania Lords of Shadow. Also love it.

But as a current gen owner, would I be upset if exclusives came out for the new consoles? Not at all. So I think this might be a point in favor of dual console owners like myself purchasing a PS5 first because Halo Infinite will play just fine on current hardware, but we'll need a PS5 to play God of War 2 (for example).
