Sony should definitely step in and purchase square Enix their games have so much potential but keep dropping the ball I think Sony could get them over the hump.
Yes I think they definitely need to make an acquisition. You can’t let your main competitor just swipe up 2 mega publishers and not respond, sure Microsoft is saying they will play nice but I don’t believe them at least in the long run. And let’s be honest Sony dominates single player but they really need a few devs to strengthen their multiplayer line up.
Microsoft has already been playing coy with former multiplatform from Bethesda. We know starfield isn’t coming to ps5, most likely not elder scrolls 6 either, now with Activision-blizzard. Overwatch 2? Nope, Diablo 4? ain’t happening, crash? Not anymore even call of duty? Yes probably even that. Microsoft will keep current games on the PS4, PS5 and honor any pre existing contracts but that’s about it. They made the Bethesda and Activision sale to sell their brand not Sony’s.
Anyone denying this isn’t that bad is lying to yourself. The console wars were pretty much dead but Microsoft has clearly fueled the fire again just goes to show consumers didn’t really start it, it was the companies. Not that I support buying mega publishers but part of me wants Sony to respond buy take two, Ubisoft, EA, square Enix, capcom or even Bandai Namco. Just do something Sony…..
