Re: Best Single Player Games on PS Plus

Dyomun

Sackboy: A Big Adventure isn't a single player game. Yes, you can play it single player, but it's not possible to play a good few of the levels without multiplayer, a bunch of trophies are tied to multiplayer and a bunch of the game's story levels are locked behind multiplayer...

Re: Maybe There Is Still Hope for the Final Fantasy 13 Trilogy on PS5, After All

@havoc33 ironically, the sequels were vastly less linear than the first game. XIII-2 had multiple branching timelines, allowing you to go back and forth to evoke changes and experience multiple alternate endings. Lightning Returns had multiple open areas that could be tackled in an order largely up to yourself, with your ability to effectively manage the timer being key to how much of the story you could actually experience.
How your most prevalent complaint about XIII is that it's too linear, yet you say you prefer it over the sequels boggles the mind.

Dyomun

Sequels have to be taken with a grain of salt for GOTY consideration - as they need to substantially enough build on the predecessor to really qualify. They have to REALLY improve on the formula to be as impressive - neither of those did that.

A remake that offers nothing new (to the point of being able to just recycle the original vouce acting and add nothing) is just not it...

A DLC is also not GOTY material.

Re: First PS Plus Essential Game for November 2025 Leaked

Dyomun

@Bluemoon2008 that was THE most nonsensical take you could have come back with. All you've done is demonstrate that you either lack the comprehension to function in an adult conversation, or that you're being deliberately obtuse.

You are subscribed to ONE tier.

Re: First PS Plus Essential Game for November 2025 Leaked

Dyomun

@Bluemoon2008 you don't subscribe to "multiple tiers" - you subscribe to one tier, which includes the benefits of lower tiers.
You paid for extra - you got the game on day one! Now others are getting the chance to play it, while they add more games to the extra library anyway.

Re: PS5 Sequel Darksiders 4 Has Online and Split-Screen Co-Op, By the Way

Dyomun

@rjejr I enjoyed the story enough from the other games that I'd happily take another entry after 4 (assuming it doesn't ruin things).
The only question is how they implement the multiplayer without compromising the single player experience. I would assume the general direction of the story would be defying the charred council and possibly taking their place as the true buffer between heaven and hell (possibly reverting the timeline to before War was tricked into triggering the apocalypse early). I'm all for them throwing me a curveball and surprising me though.

Dyomun

@rjejr all of the subsequent games (Darksiders 2, 3 and Genesis) have been set before the main portion of the first game. The reveal for this new game was literally quoting War's last line from the first game, making it certainly seem like this is the intended follow-on for the story.

Basically, each of the other games have been backstory for the other horsemen, whereas NOW we finally get them all together.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for August 2025?

Dyomun

@KundaliniRising333 I love soulslikes, having hit the plat on 4 FromSoft games, both Niohs, Code Vein and more... but I deliberately didn't buy Lies Of P, purely because I knew it would eventually be a part of PS+
I've done the same for the Spiderman and Horizon games. I did the same for Diablo 3 and 4. I also know others who have Lies Of P on their wishlist, but didn't bother buying it because they had a backlog to work through, so they don't buy anything from their list on release, just in case it joins PS+, unless it's a multiplayer that we'll play together.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for July 2025?

Dyomun

@Czar_Khastik youre trolling, right? A 3rd party AAA title and you expect it to be a free monthly title from day 1? Hahahahaha!

Even if they were going to do that, it would be as part of extra tier, not as part of the monthly bundle that people could miss out on. To expect that from a massive AAA game is just insane.

Re: Sony to Mostly Drop PS4 Games from PS Plus Starting January 2026

Dyomun

@sanderson72 it specifically says that they will still have access to any PS4 games on Plus - including all the prevoosuly aded to library titles... It just means that they'll mostly only be adding games that have a PS5 version to the service. If a game gets added and it has a PS4 version, then that will still be included.
Bearing in mind that this will only come into effect in 2026 - when the PS5 will be just shy of 5 and a half years old. There naturally has to come a point where older generations don't get priority any more. Pretty much every PS4 game ever made will have been part of Plus at some point by then.

It's almost as if you just WANT something to moan about.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for January 2025?

Dyomun

Honestly, this is probably the worst month PS plus has ever had...

A 12 year old indy game.
A remaster of a second-tier racing game.
Headlines by what many called the worst game (or at least the biggest disappointment) of 2024 - a game which lost so much of the player base so quickly that they scrapped plans for future DLC, beyond what the initial season pass already covered.

Not a single one of them is a good option.
