@Bez87 I'm not really a tech guy tbh, but playing Death Stranding 2 recently on a great tv, I'm wondering how much better graphics can even get? I feel like the level of photo realism is incredible so then is it more about performance, the frame rate, the pop in/draw distance etc? This is the first time I've not been looking to the next gen with that much excitement - feels like this year is first year PS5 has really got cooking with great 'big' titles being released and it has loads more to offer.
@get2sammyb Spot on. We live in a digital world and that's convenient, but people like owning tangible things. There's a reason why people went back to buying music on vinyl and even CDs now. Same for games, it's nice to own it physically and the more premium the tangible elements, the better for lots of people. It's not for everyone and that's fine, but definitely a cool addition.
@Jettstyles 100% .I fancied another play through so I bought the remaster, but I wasn't 100% sure I'd actually be into doing it all again. Shouldn't have worried, I had a blast - the gameplay is so satisfying and the visuals felt even better now - it's seriously beautiful at times. It still has its unique foibles, but that game engine and world definitely deserved another outing.
These sales are pretty uninspiring. Can't remember the last time I saw an interesting discount on the digital store. Just picked up a physical copy of Silent Hill 2 for £29.99 - in fact the best discounts recently have been buying physical copies - another reason we need physical as well as digital!
Replaying this on a PS5 after enjoying the original a couple of years ago (once it got fixed and updated for PS5) and it definitely feels better looking to me - plus I'm enjoying it more than I thought I might second time around. Good game, with some really cool gameplay elements. Yes there's some decidedly hokey voice acting and dialogue in parts, but it's all part of the charm really. Still good fun, especially as a £10 upgrade option. For anyone else I think they'd probably be pleasantly surprised if they give it a go once the price point drops.
@Kidfunkadelic83 Thanks, this is useful. I enjoyed the Golf Club and 2k iterations when they were the only show in town but they ended up not evolving enough for me and I really enjoyed the higher production values and visuals on the EA game. This looks like a step up though. Good of them to demo it and I'll def give it a go.
@BusyOlf Yeah this is spot on - maps a bit smaller and not quite as good (visually/design-wise), difficulty seems lower (fewer enemies and less cunning placings). There is one very good level (the fort) so far, but all in all a little bit of a case of diminishing returns and needs a freshen up, think it's a 6 or a 7 realistically.
@soracloud28 This. Corporations and creativity don't play well together, but in the end what you have is some very talented, hard working people who want to create art for other people, having their craft and effort wasted. It's a damn tragedy.
