That's good news, means they're pushing app support from the very beginning. However when it comes to streaming video, I'm more interesting in the PS5's native Media Player app since 3rd party apps aren't likely to use all system capabilities like decoding certain formats. Plus they're never designed in-line with the system's philosophy when it comes to button functions etc.
So... basically this means there was room for much better optimization all along but they didn't care until now? Let's be real, it wasn't a remaster but more like a quick port. Maybe loading time was purposefully made longer (issues along the way when porting from PS3 to PS4?) but it would seem very odd on PS5 with the super fast SSD so they unlocked something.
It is bad. It's really bad. Kinda looks like the website failed to load properly but it's the actual thing. The previous version might not have been perfect, but it was useful. This however, might stop me from browsing the store on browser/mobile altogether. I wonder what they have in store (no pun intended) for the actual PS5 hardware. Remember when PS3 originally had this beautiful built-in Store app streamlined into the system? It got replaced eventually with the sluggish web-based Store that also required additional load time when launching. I feel like actual design is sacrificed in favor of big empty solid color filled spaces nowadays. Some will call it "modern" but I'm not buying it.
