I loved the demo for this so much, I can’t wait to get stuck in to it tonight.
One little highlight that springs to mind - a simple top trumps type mini game is used as a way of giving some exposition to the hierarchy of the different peoples.
Little by little you build up your knowledge and understanding of their languages and world, and it’s so satisfying.
@AdamNovice when they said a Midgar game would let us see more of the city and people, flesh it all out, I was intrigued. I was hoping to see more up top, the disparity with the slums. Wallmarket was great, but most of the added content seemed to be corridors of rubble in the slums, which was a bit underwhelming.
@daveofduncan I used to think it was impossible but I got this trophy today without even trying. The current thieves/ guards game is only one-round, with two teams and each win counts towards the trophy.
Annoying thing is, switching to PS5, none of the trophies you got on PS4 will pop, so it’ll still never be 100%.
@themightyant from memory I think part of it was having to play a very long game multiple times on different difficulties to get the platinum. Then there were a few others that were also massive time sinks.
@Voltan I started again a week back having quit for the same reason. I picked up Persona 5 Royal and the changes seem to give you some extra breathing room. You still have to try and plan your time, but I don’t feel like I’m going to get 50 hours in having made the wrong choices. Quite addicted now, enjoying it a lot. Definitely worth reconsidering.
@God_of_Nowt I think people look at tax too negatively.
Yes 20% is paid to the government, but this pays for mostly free healthcare, education, infrastructure etc. It’s not always wisely spent, but most people will see a tangible benefit from the tax they pay. The US generally has lower rates, but also high insurance rates for healthcare for most people.
I’m not denying that things couldn’t change for the better, or be taxed in a fairer way.
If you look at ebooks, for which the VAT rate recently changed from 20% to 0%, many publishers maintained the same price and pocketed the difference. Even if the rate for games dropped, I think it’s unlikely we consumers would see the benefit.

Re: PS Plus Subscriptions on Sale Now, But There's a Big Catch
@StylesT for next time, the £40 cards have a slightly better discount - I got two from Shopto for £68.
Re: Brain-Bending Puzzler The Talos Principle 2 Will Test Your Mind This November on PS5
@AdamNovice did you try The Witness? That one really clicked with me.

Re: No Man's Sky's PSVR2 Visuals Take a Massive Leap with Foveated Rendering
It really does make a huge difference. Stellar effort!
Re: Final Fantasy 16 Is Flying Up Sales Charts After Stellar State of Play Show
If you plan to preorder it’s £52 instead of £69.99 at Thegamecollection with their code GOLDEGG5.
Re: Gorgeous Exploration Game Sable Makes the Journey to PS5 in Late 2022
One of my most memorable and enjoyable gaming experiences in years.
It had some performance issues (on series S) but the exploration and world building was excellent.

Re: Mini Review: Fall Guys (PS5) - Free-to-Play and Still a Blast Despite MTX Meddling
@WallyWest I’d be tempted to support the devs now and then, but £5ish for one costume is ridiculous. Its so greedy.
Re: Boldly Go Where Many Others Have Gone Before in Star Trek Online: Stormfall, Live Now on PS4
@thefourfoldroot1 I would love that, as unlikely as it seems. I could never get into the shooters.
Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium Now Live in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand
@Smithylfc2008 mine showed £17.88 upgrade to extra for just over six months left on essential. I went for it at that price. It was £26 for premium.
Re: Tinykin Will Scratch Your Pikmin Itch on PS5, PS4
The Wild at Heart is another game inspired by Pikmin that I really enjoyed. It had a stronger story and a nice aesthetic, with lots of good puzzles.

@rjejr have you tried the xenoblade games from monolithsoft? They’re my go to JRPG studio these days. Can’t get enough.
