Actually that's quite possible. You should ignore the other guy, he's trying so hard to push his own narrative. It's a remake not a 1 to 1 remaster. They are as the word implies "remaking" the timeline. The arbitars of fate have been destroyed and the devs conclude the game with "the unknown journey will continue"... which is literally screaming out "hey if it isn't obvious already, ***** about to change, anything can happen the future is unknown". So there's so much opportunity and potential now that it's likely Aerith survives in this new timeline.
