I normally skip all the side quests and mini games (I don’t have enough gaming time to try and 100% games anymore)—but I found Queen’s Blood to be pretty engaging. I think it would do really well as a cell phone game.
This is just good business and it feels like most gamers have moved beyond the console wars mentality. But there will always be holdouts, I guess. The more people who can play good games, the better.
The only surprise it’s skipping the PS4 is that they didn’t start this earlier. With PS5 in the back half of its cycle, they’re going to try and force more people to upgrade. Not consumer friendly per se, but it has to happen eventually.
I’m not buying it. The PS5 just barely got to the point that the average consumer (who doesn’t follow stock tracker websites) can find one. More power will never be the answer for lack of optimization—it’s just a band aid. Also, game development costs are out of control so developers are going to become more resistant to spending extra money on effects that most consumers will never notice (I’m not talking about hardcore gamers with optimized game setups).
I do believe that Sony R&D is working on the next thing. But I fully expect a PS5 slim (that’s cheaper to manufacture) will release before a pro version. The PS4 Pro was needed because of demand from 4K TVs but there’s nothing pushing people to ask for more from the PS5. With only like 3 PS5 exclusives, I can’t imagine Sony will launch upgraded hardware. It’s much more profitable for them to keep selling the PS5 for the considerable future.

I played Rebirth on a 75" TV. It never looked that pixelated.

Re: Fresh PS5 Pro Report Reiterates Sony Demands for Upgraded Games
I feel like devs still making games cross-gen with the PS4 has held back the PS5 more than anything else.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?
I work from home so snuck in some play time during my lunch break. Really happy with it so far (but only an hour in).
Re: Looks Like Netflix Exclusive Valiant Hearts Sequel Is Coming Home to PS4
I loved the first one! If this happens I’ll be ready to buy it day one.
