@Kafkaesque Man everything naughty dog does is first rate. Their attention to detail, their stories, gameplay, even the music are all the standard that about every other studio strives towards. And I'm sick of hearing people talk about the working environment, or "the crunch" as people like to refer to it. In my line of work as a construction worker you have a deadline to finish the job. Things come up during construction. Things get changed. However, the deadline remains. And, when the hour is fast approaching as they say, you do what had to be done. You work extended hours seven days a week. So I don't want to hear a damn thing about Naughty Dogs "crunch". Come work twelve hours on the face of the sun here in Las Vegas doing this kind of work. If theirs is a crunch there then mine is a black hole.
@thefirst Ha that's funny that you say that about not wanting an Xbox even if it were free. About a year ago I was standing outside my work next to the recycle dumpster at night, and I looked into the dumpster and saw a box for a flat screen TV. I said "I wonder what kind of TV these people bought." I turned on my flashlight on my phone and directed it on the box. Sitting right on top of the box was a PS4. I said "no way that works, but maybe it'll have a bigger hard drive than my PS4". Turned out the damn thing worked perfectly. So I was gonna just have two PS4 consoles, but the whole licensing thing and "main console" just made it too irritating to keep both as far as being able to just play any game on either one with no roadblocks. So I put it on OfferUp and Letgo. I got a message from someone asking if I'd want to trade for a One X. I thought about it, because I highly doubted I'd buy one on my own. Then I thought about well what do I really want to play that I can only play on Xbox? Forza? Too redundant. Gears? Can do without it. State of Decay 2? I got TLoU and Days Gone to fill that genre. Whatever that sorry ass pirate game that was supposed to be a big deal was called? I'm good on that game too. Halo? Hasn't been worth a damn after the first two, while the third was okay. So what is there to even play on that console? You go to Walmart and the Xbox section of games takes up like one section with the two glass doors. Their PS section takes up twice, or more, the amount of shelf space for their games. So I told the guy naw on trading him for his Xbox, because what's there to play? Oh wait they got that game with Terry Crews! GTF outta here with their sorry selection of choices. So I was literally given the opportunity to own an Xbox One X for absolutely free and couldn't think of one reason to take it. I kinda wanted a reason to get it to be able to play something that I'd not be able to play otherwise (well even though you still can play it on PC) but nothing was there for me to do it. Sony just cares more about what I like which is story driven narratives. Sony showed that they invest more into what they put out. Didn't see Microsoft's presentation, but after all the horrible things I've read it sounds like more of the same. Microsoft just doesn't invest (not speaking only monetarily) in the content they put out.
Yeah who the hell cares what the gender, or sexual preference, of the character you are controlling is. You don't hear any moans and groans when say Gollum, or an earthworm, or any other type of unaesthetically pleasing entity is the character you are in control of. If the most hideous, vile, and undesirable thing you can imagine were the focal point of the game you'd have no reservations moving your fingers to control that beast. But, if it's a girl, well that just crosses the line then huh? How unevolved are you? I bet you had no problem controlling Samus while playing Metroid though. "Can't visually see that it's a female so it doesn't count". That way of thinking is just weird to me. I'll go beyond fantasy and videogames and say; if there were a girl in my neighborhood that was hot as hell, and provided that we got along, I wouldn't care if she were purple or green I'd be all over it.
