@rusty82 it’s a souls like with a Difficulty Setting! Very metroidvania, semi open world. Over 20 weapons. Decent enough story. Some tricky puzzles to figure out, various death scenes from weapons.

My only issue was with the lack of the usual things in LA like strip malls, animal collisions, pot holes, public transportation (buses, ride share), truck accidents, and roaches. Seriously where are all the critters of city life?

Well from 7 we had the horror swamp/hillbillies/haunted house mystery thing, then we got village. So far it’s like a ghosts ‘n goblins 2d game map. Next up either caves or castle.

I wonder if that Oxcart quest that sees you posing as a pawn is fixed and can be tried again when/if you fail.

@zhoont No NCR, shady Sands was nuked. The Legion may make an appearance, but I’d suspect this will be more about the Mutants and who or what is in charge of New Vegas now. Best bet would be Boomers and the enclave.

I think we’ll see a return to zork and an Ultima entry before the sequel comes out.

I love these games, that feeling of accomplishment after a tough boss, what a rush. Only DLC boss that bugged me was Artorias and that jumping maniac in DS3 DLC.

@Neither_scene played through the story with various builds. Even managed to kite that corruption chick into Acid Cloud. Finished that one guys quest with the cursed armor, and the platinum popped. At that point I’ve fully explored and saw everything the game had to offer. So I moved on. I have 2 platinum, maybe 3, don’t care about it, just saw and did everything in the game according to the trophies.

Got platinum in ER, got all the lore and stories. No point in trophy less DLC.

Still doesn’t justify the price. Now if you throw in some metal slime plushies, that’s a different story.

Whenever I played MMOs, everyone cries for healers. Then the devs inevitably add other ways to heal, so that everyone can heal to some respect. Then nobody plays a healer.

Well, depends on classes, races, skills. Looks promising though.

Ridiculous price for a remake of a 2.5D game. This isn’t Demon Souls or Silent Hill.

I’d think a better fit would be a MMO game, or limited to 16. More people, more chaos.

So, they had an initial batch of levels and the ones deemed too difficult were saved as DLC. Underhanded and crafty. Day one purchase.

So you’re a detective and you enter peoples minds and waltz around the real world. Isn’t this the game, Observer? The one with Rutger Hauer? Seems like this idea has been used to death.

Well it’s no Dark Age of Camelot, but I’d give it a whirl.

So will it be a gacha game where this outfit shoots fire and lets you float, whereas the “free” outfit allows floating? Pay to win or pay to dress up?

I think I rented this from Blockbuster.

I remember the town being limited in exploration with many buildings inaccessible. Would like to see this more fleshed out in remake.

Genius game. Shame it was a demo first, although what a demo! This will be a must have going forward.

I wish my kindergarten was that big. Didn’t have any mascots though. We did have Romper Room back in the 70s. Missed out on mascots.

That pawn thing, made my pawn permanently silent after repeatedly saying the support statements on repeat. Still surprised that that particular taught discipline isn’t more common.

Played these on the Switch. Turn based monster hunter. Crafting and a long, long RPG.

Still have Tunic and puzzlevania Animal Well. RDR2 still runs crashtacular.

Trying to match fallout’s success may not work with a reality based Tomb Raider. Fallout is ridiculous and unpredictable, TR has to match that energy with its own wacky history. Monsters, traps, unexplored ruins and puzzles have to mesh together. It’ll never take off without that video game charm.

No I won’t try The Last of Us 2. Not on a plane or a train, and not with my green…

My only disappointment was that Teardown was actually a timed bomb disposal game.

Having played a bit more, it seems to be a Celeste metroidvania. Some sections require perfect timing. Using a child’s toy and momentum it works as advertised, your floaty blob not so much. Timing works in some situations, not in digital torture.

This game is puzzling, chased by a ghost cat, using bubbles to get to places to get stuck. So much confusing fun.

So instead of taking the L quietly, Microsoft opted for the nuclear option and just closed everything. Now Microsoft is biting its thumb, huddled in a dark corner. You can almost hear it whispering “PS5…PS5…”

Any game with intelligent space rats deserves to have PvP.
