EA and Bit Reactor have released a huge game update for Star Wars Zero Company, the good but rough-around-the-edges strategy game set in a galaxy far, far away.

The update brings the game to version 1.2, and it's available now on all platforms, including PS5 of course.

Not only does the update fix a large number of bugs, it introduces new campaign modifiers and makes sweeping balance adjustments across the whole game.

The campaign modifiers allow you to enable a number of optional gameplay adjusters that can make the game more challenging. You can pick and choose them when starting a new campaign.

Among plenty of other things, they allow you to:

  • Enable instant death
  • Decrease the max health boosts from receiving Focus Points
  • Make it so assist shots have a chance to miss
  • Stop characters who dislike each other from getting shared upgrades

On top of the modifiers, the update makes some significant balance changes.

Specific classes and named characters such as Cly have been nerfed a bit, while many of the Upgrade Facility's upgrades have had their costs slashed.

I remember being very short on Credits near constantly in Zero Company, so making these upgrades more affordable is a nice change.

The bug fixes are wide-ranging, covering softlocks, inconsistencies with targeting and Overwatch, performance issues, and much more.

You can view the full patch notes through the link. It's a hefty update that goes some way to improve the game, so if you were having some trouble with it, now might be a good time to try again.
