As has become tradition for Falcom games, a lengthy playable demo for Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter is available to download right now on PS5.

Naturally, if you're yet to play Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, you should probably avoid jumping straight into this direct sequel. But for those who have been eagerly awaiting the story's continuation, you can kick things off early.

Indeed, you'll be able to transfer your demo progress over to the full release, once it's out on the 17th September.

Myself and many others have very high expectations for 2nd Chapter. For those who may not know, the original Trails in the Sky SC is widely regarded to be one of the best games in the entire series — especially from a narrative and character perspective.

Spunky protagonist Estelle Bright sets out to track down her beloved partner after the events of the first game, all while unravelling the secrets of her home nation. It's a proper drama from start to finish.

Given just how exceptional 1st Chapter is, I can't see this second remake being anything but a banger.
