I guess it was inevitable, really, but yes, Sonic is officially crossing paths with Fortnite in the game's forthcoming season.
Chapter 7 Season 4, named Override, appears to be themed around games and/or digital realms, and it seems Sonic the Hedgehog is part of the fun.
Here's the teaser trailer:
We see the character rolling through a Green Hill Zone loop-de-loop, then it cuts to Peely zooming along — there's definitely a joke about seeing a banana split here — before it ends with a shot of Sonic grabbing a ring.
It's not all that clear from this video exactly what the nature of Sonic and Fortnite's collab will entail, but you've got to assume we'll be getting some fun cosmetics and other goodies at the very least.
Override begins on 20th August 2026, so there's just over a week to go before we'll know much more about this collab and any others, including Kingdom Hearts.
