Embrace Your Inner Akira with Namco's 1995 Cyber Cycles, Coming to PS5 1

Ready to do the Akira slide in Neo Yokohama like it’s 1995?

Namco’s early arcade racer Cyber Cycles is launching on the PS5 on 20th August, courtesy of Hamster’s Arcade Archives line.

There are two tracks in this game: the easy-peasy Green Hill (inspired by Suzuka 8 Hours, not Sonic the Hedgehog) and the abovementioned Neo Yokohama.

With first-person and third-person perspectives, this was quite an impressive racer for the time.

The game will cost $16.99 on the PS5. A PS4 version will also be available for $14.99, but it’ll be missing a few of the features from the current-gen version. A $2.99 upgrade fee will also be available.

I must admit I’ve personally never had the opportunity to hop on a Cyber Cycles cabinet, so I’m looking forward to checking this out.

I’ve been really enjoying all of these old Namco releases, and will certainly be adding this one to my virtual library.
