Looking forward to this one. I might need to play through Control again though to get that hype. Thinking about Alan Wake 1 & 2 as well.

As we face yet another heatwave in the UK, and with thousands of lives lost across Europe recently, pumping out CO2 to ship cheap tat around the world sounds like a genius plan...

But hey, I'm sure it's worth it to stare at it on the shelf in 10 years time. It definitely won't be chucked in the loft/landfill and forgotten about.

It's a cool steelbook but having just go the Pro I'm wondering if it's worth it to get a disk drive. Buying the digital deluxe gets 48 hours of early access and allows my brother to gameshare simultaneously.

@WolfyTn If you believe that about broccoli haired kids (w/e the eff that means), you are wrong. I have been gaming since the Atari was released. I began buying digital years ago because I move often and do not like having many material possessions to move in the process. There are many reasons some prefer digital and others prefer physical. Just because you're angry (btw, I am too) about physical games disappearing does not give you the right to attack someone else based on their preference.

Love the fight for digital in the comments. Keep it up lads. Some of us are fine without physical discs.

@NoPhysicalNoBuy123 Well, most people apparently prefer digital. I do because it's less stuff cluttering my very limited space. I'd wager that the most outspoken about this are also people who read books digitally or get most of their news digitally. I mean, when was the last time you saw someone reading a newspaper? The world didn't stop turning with either of those. It's problematic for sure, but people find ways of preserving what's important to them. There is no reason to think this is an exceptional case. It's just happening in a very disheartening news cycle for us all. We love games. We should be passionate about them. That passion is no excuse for attacking others though.

I think you'll find Epic Games released this game as digital initially, Remedy developed it.

It's also worth noting that Remedy were backed by Epic to develop the game, so Epic had every right to decide to put it on their store first.

And of course, it was later released on physical.

Also, a friend worked on the Northlight engine for this game, so he did me the honour of putting me in it.

@D6rkLordS6t6n broccoli hair kids is a quick Google search but it refers to these kids getting perms so their hair looks like 🥦.. it’s not the difference in opinion that irritates me, it’s the lack of compassion from the other side being arrogant saying f*** discs and physical media altogether.. it’s those who don’t realize that this is going to make all costs rise on everything everywhere and not just video games..

I don’t collect physical games myself this Generation.. but I do buy physical, beat it/platinum it, resell it for over half the money I spent, and then use that money to buy the next game.. and that’s after I’ve let my one or two buddies borrow it if they’re interested.. I’ve borrowed their games before when I was broke.. my kids have a good 40 ps4/pro games I handed down to them a couple years back that they’re constantly playing..

Im not angry.. but I AM very disappointed along with all game devs and physical media collectors/admirers.. I’ve been debating PC for a decade.. not going to spend $1000+ on a PS6 when I can just invest in a high end PC.. this industry doesn’t look too promising these days altogether - I know we can agree on that

@WolfyTn You're totally right. I am in the same spot. There is no way that I will pay $1,000+ for a PS6. Most of the games that I play now are CRPGs that are clunky on a controller anyway. Plus, I do think we are seeing an industry change in that smaller, more independent developers are finding a niche. With so many studios being shut down, it's creating a vacuum for others to fill.
